Bed Mat vs. Bed Sheets

Grounding Bed Sheets vs. Grounding Bed Mat: Which is Right for You?

Grounding Bed Sheets vs. Grounding Bed Mat: Which is Right for You?

When it comes to grounding during sleep, there are two main options: grounding bed sheets, which replace your regular bed sheets, and grounding bed mats, which go under your regular sheets. So, which is the best option? Well, it depends. Both have their pros and cons.

Grounding Bed Mat

Grounding with a grounding bed mat is a great option, but it can be a bit tricky as there are some pitfalls that, in the worst case, can prevent you from actually being grounded while sleeping. However, if the setup works, it’s perfect.

A grounding bed mat goes under your regular bed sheets. You remove your bed sheets, place the grounding bed mat on the mattress, and then put your bed sheets back on. The grounding bed mat will work through the bed sheets. It is important to consider the conductivity of your bed sheets. Not all materials are equally conductive. Organic materials such as cotton, wool, bamboo, linen, and silk are recommended when using a grounding bed mat as they are more conductive than synthetic fabrics and blended fabrics (like polyester-cotton blends). Heavily treated fabrics, such as those with stain-resistant, wrinkle-free, or water-repellent chemicals, can interfere with conductivity, making them unsuitable for grounding.

One common issue is that when testing your grounding bed mat with a bed sheet on top, your tester may not immediately light up green, indicating grounding. However, when using a grounding bed mat with bed sheets, it might take some time for you to become grounded because, normally, when we sleep for many hours, we sweat. Sweat is primarily composed of water and contains salts and minerals, which are good conductors of electricity. When you sweat, the moisture from your sweat can help improve the conductivity of the sheets, allowing electrons to flow more easily from the grounding mat to your body. So, just giving it 10 minutes will most likely ensure you are actually grounding.

Another great thing about the grounding bed mat is its longevity and ease of cleaning. You can have a grounding bed mat for up to 10 years, and when you need to clean it, you just hand wash it.

Grounding Bed Sheets

Grounding bed sheets are another excellent option. There are several types of grounding sheets available. Half sheets, which you lay over your bed, come in different sizes: 60cm, 90cm, and 120cm.

The most common are full-size grounding bed sheets, which are available in many different sizes to fit your bed. Our grounding bed sheets are made of cotton and silver thread, with the silver being the conductive part. Bed sheets are easy to set up and do not have the same pitfalls as the grounding mat. It is easy to test with a grounding tester to ensure they work. However, grounding bed sheets tend to wear out faster than grounding bed mats and typically last about 2-3 years.

Conclusion

To sum it up, both the grounding bed mat and the grounding bed sheets are good options, so it really depends on your preference. Some people prefer the grounding bed mat, while others prefer the grounding sheets. Both provide effective grounding solutions during sleep, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of improved health and well-being.
